The HUGS program is about making handmade greeting cards for kids diagnosed with cancer that encourage, inspire and uplift them while in the hospital.
We feel that kids are getting a HUG when they open up a card and a smile illuminates their face. We want to show them that we really care about them and that they are not alone . What may seem like just a greeting card to us, may be the very thing that brightens up their spirit and puts a smile on their face. That is reason enough to deliver greeting cards to every child with cancer in the hospitals.
When we're able to; we will include a small gift/toy with each card to the children.
If you would like to help us in making handmade greeting cards (local or out of state), please feel free to contact us. We can use your help!

Friends Like Us welcomes you or your organization to host a fundraiser to benefit Friends Like Us in helping kids with cancer and we appreciate your support.
So, what can you do to help...you ask?
1. Host a bakesale or home parties. Fundraising parties can take virtually any form, from a casual BBQ or a pizza party to a more formal cocktail or dinner party. Some have even helped by having a yard/garage sale to benefit Friends Like Us.
2. "The Big Challenge" (Young people love this one!) All it is, is raising money by getting pledges/donations from your family, friends or co-workers. If you raise a specific amounts, you can get a iPod in your choice of color. How cool is that? If you're interested in helping this way, please feel free to contact us. Thank you!
The best and most successful fundraisers are those which reflect your creativity, passion and heart. However we are here to help and share ideas. Contact us via email or by calling the office and we'll help in any way we can and get your started.

Worldwide, more than 160,000 children are diagnosed with cancer each year. Cancer crosses every border, affects children of every race, nationality, age, socio-economic level and religion. These children hope for the same things that healthy children hope for, they dream of being princesses or pirates, walking on the moon, getting married and having children... but cancer gets in the way.
